Levno’s Fresh Look: Helping Farmers Stay Ahead

For more than ten years, Levno has been working alongside New Zealand farmers to make sure every drop counts - whether it’s milk, water, or fuel.

This week, we’ve launched a fresh new look. It’s not just about colours and logos - it reflects a shift in how we’re thinking about farm monitoring. We’re moving from being a tool that tells you when something’s gone wrong, to a system that helps you prevent issues before they happen.

As our CEO, Oscar Ellison, puts it:

“We’re moving from being just an on-farm monitoring tool to being an intelligent partner — shifting the conversation from reacting to problems to proactively staying ahead of them.”

Smarter Dairy Farm Monitoring

Our monitoring system now provides round-the-clock oversight of key points in the dairy shed — milk temperature, volume, agitation, milking times and wash cycles. The aim is simple: protect milk quality and reduce waste.

It’s already making a measurable difference:

  • 5 million litres of milk saved from being dumped in the 2024/25 season, thanks to early alerts through our Full Cream products
  • 69% reduction in bacteria counts for processors after the implementation of milk vat monitoring.

For farmers, that translates into more certainty, better returns, and peace of mind.

Desma Feakins from Tataiwhetu Trust (winners of the 2021 Ahuwhenua Trophy for excellence in Māori farming) sums it up:

“The text alerts keep us aware if the chiller's on, and we can see exactly how much volume is going into the vat. It’s great technology – a real asset.”

Proactive Farming, Not Reactive Fixes

Traditionally, you only knew something was wrong when milk spoiled, equipment failed, or supplies ran out. Levno’s system changes that - sending alerts before problems escalate.

Oscar explains: “Reactive monitoring belongs in the past. The future is proactive, intelligent, and always on.”

And it’s not just milk. Levno also provides monitoring for water, fuel, and feed - helping farmers detect leaks early, prevent fuel theft, manage compliance, and stay on top of feed supplies.

Taking New Zealand Innovation Further

From a two-person startup in 2012 to a team of more than 50, Levno now has over 10,000 systems in place across NZ, and a growing presence in Australia, the UK, and Ireland.

Our approach is designed to make adoption simple: a monthly subscription, no big upfront costs, 24/7 support, and expert technicians when you need them.

As Oscar puts it: “At the end of the day, we’re not just monitoring farms. We’re helping farmers stay ahead.”

A Fresh Look, Same Commitment

The refreshed brand signals where we’re heading, but what matters hasn’t changed. Our purpose is still the same: making sure every drop of milk, water, and fuel counts.

For farmers, that means the service, app, devices, and support you rely on stay the same — now backed by a sharper focus on helping you manage smarter, every day.

FAQs

1. The focus seems to have shifted to dairy - how will this focus affect me if I’m another farmer, fuel supplier, contractor, or in water?

While we’re sharpening our focus on dairy, nothing changes in how we support our wider customer base.

If you’re a sheep farmer, fuel supplier, contractor, horticulture grower, or part of the water industry, our monitoring systems for fuel and water remain fully supported and actively developed. We know theft prevention, compliance, and efficiency are just as critical in these areas as milk quality is for dairy farmers.

Our purpose hasn’t changed: making sure every drop counts - whether that’s milk, water, or fuel. You can continue to rely on Levno for the same service, support, and innovation you’ve always had, with the added benefit of a sharper vision that helps us build even better products for all our customers.
